Becoming a Member of the AASCT
Membership of the Association shall be opened to all persons and organizations involved in the study, application or dissemination of Sugar, Chemical and Allied Industries.
CATEGORY OF MEMBERSHIP
The following category of membership exist:
||Membership fee; National 1000/-INR, Overseas USD30
||Associations/Societies of Sugar Technologist’ with objectives consistent with those of the AASCT.
Membership fee; National 500/-INR, Overseas USD15
||Research organization, libraries, companies and other non-profit organizations, which support the Associations, objectives of the AASCT.
Membership fee; National 10,00/-INR, Overseas USD150
||Industrial and Commercial organizations which associated with the AASCT and which support the objective of the AASCT
Membership fee; National 15,000/-INR, Overseas USD220
||An associate member will become a fellow member after 10 years as an Associate member
Membership fee; National 5,000/-INR, Overseas USD75
||Membership fee; National 10,000/-INR, Overseas USD150
||Elected on merit

RESIGNATIONS: Any Member in good standing may resign at any time following payment of his financial obligations to the society, by submitting his written resignation to the Secretary General.
SUSPENSION AND EXPULSION: Any Member may be suspended for a period or expelled from the Society for refusal or failure to comply with the By-Laws, or for other prejudicial conduct by an affirmative vote of the majority of the Board of Management(BOM), or of a majority of the Member present at any meeting of the Society duly held, provided that a statement of the charges upon which such suspension or expulsion are to be based shall have been mailed by registered mail to said Member at his last recorded address at least one month before final action on such suspension or expulsion, which statement shall be accompanied by a notice of the time and place of the proposed action by the Board of the Management, at which the Member involved may answer the charges before final action is taken.
For non-payment of financial obligations to the Association any Member may be suspended or expelled from the Society by a majority affirmative vote of the Board of Management under provided that notice of such intention shall have been mailed (via registered mail) to said Management at his last recorded address at least one month before final action is taken.
MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION: Should an Associate Member leave the employment of the certifying Corporate Member, his Associate Membership shall cease forthwith.
If an immediate application for Affiliate Membership is made by the affected person, the first years’ Affiliate Membership fees may be waived by a majority affirmative vote of the Board of Management at any meeting that a quorum is present, providing the current year’s Associate Membership fees have already been paid.
Upon the adoption of these amended By-Laws any Corporate Member whose class of Membership is affected by these amended By-Laws may elect to maintain its current class of Membership indefinitely. However, if the class of Membership is changed to conform with these amended By-Laws the Corporate Membership may not subsequently revert to its original class of Membership.
